Located in the heart of Austria at the SAN Biotech Park, our multi-species facility is equipped to accommodate both laboratory animals as well as livestock animals such as swine, sheep, rabbits, and poultry.

The Animal Health Center offers a comprehensive housing solution for a variety of animal species, including sheep, swine, poultry, rabbits, mice, and rats. Our facility is uniquely equipped to accommodate diverse research needs, ensuring that all animals are kept in optimized and humane conditions suitable for a range of experimental requirements.

Our facility distinguishes itself with an extraordinary capacity rare in Europe, particularly for large livestock. With the ability to house up to 88 large animals and 420 IVC cages for smaller animals like mice and rats in one room, we provide unparalleled scale and control, even for the most demanding research projects.

Our feed system allows for the remote introduction of food directly into stalls. This not only reduces labor but also enhances the precision in dietary control by enabling the addition of minerals and medicines as required. Continuous video surveillance ensures that animal welfare is constantly monitored.
Versatile room Design
Our animal rooms are uniquely designed to accommodate multiple species with adjustable features like slatted floors, which can be covered with mats for other livestock animals or customized for smaller animals like mice, ensuring suitability for various species and research needs.
Office on Clean Side
Our facility includes a "clean" office space with associated washrooms located within the controlled area, providing exceptional convenience and safety for researchers and staff who need to take care of office tasks without leaving the clean area.
Regulatory Compliance
The Animal Health Center adheres strictly to the Austrian Animal Trial Law (Tierversuchsgesetz) and meets all European Union regulations. This compliance guarantees that research conducted here is suitable for clinical trials and licensing studies within the EU, providing a robust foundation for pharmaceutical and academic advancements.
